Dear camera buffs, help please.
My parents want to get me a new camera for my birthday, but want me to decide which one. So I’m doing research. Features I want include:
- Small enough I can throw it in my bag for everyday use
- Aperture and shutter priority modes, fully manual mode
- rechargeable battery
- durability
- good low-light pictures
- GOOD PICTURE QUALITY
The two cameras I keep coming back to are yet to be released, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX700K and Canon Powershot S95. Coincidentally, they have the same suggested retail price!
I’ve had Canon cameras in the past and their menus seem intuitive to me, but for some reason I’m leaning towards the Lumix. It just seems nicer for some reason… maybe the extra megapixels and touch-screen?
* edit: the Lumix DMC-LX5K just caught my eye.Thoughts? Recommendations? Other cameras I should know about?
